Magic events This month - February

We've seen a huge increase in Magic players attending our casual FNM in the last few months, now that Winter opening have come to an end we will be running regular events again, This months events calendar is stacked with a variety of events, as outlined below: 

Friday 13th of February - Lorwyn Eclipsed: Commander Party.

Commander Party is a story-inspired Commander event that immerses players in the setting of the latest set release. The vibe is fun and casual, and the events are outstanding opportunities to welcome in broad groups from your community, from new players to lore enthusiasts to Commander fans.

The event features special rules designed specifically for Magic: The Gathering | Lorwyn Eclipsed and includes play aids and party cards to support play. Each pod of three to four players receives a play aid, and party cards are placed in the designated area of the play aid.

For our journey to Lorwyn, players draw a hand for both the sunlit realm of Lorwyn and the moonlit realm of Shadowmoor. Receiving benefits based on the plane that players are currently in. Players'll change between their two hands as the game changes between Lorwyn and Shadowmoor. Will your commander shine in the light, or strike from the dark?

Tickets are available on the day and are priced at our standard FNM Cost of £5 

Friday 20th of February - Lorwyn Eclipsed: Store Championship.

Store Championship is a structured, in-store Standard format tournament that follows the release of many Magic: The Gathering sets. The longest standing format, players bring their own constructed deck, made using the most recent sets*. It is an opportunity for players to compete, earn commemorative promos, and gain recognition within the community.

*Cards that have been reprinted in the above sets are Standard Legal
Tickets are available on the day and are priced at £10, tickets will be available on our website from 6pm Friday 13th.  

Friday 27th of February - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pre-Release event

Pre-release celebrates the launch of a new set and is your first opportunity to explore what the set has to offer. Players open a Prerelease Pack containing 6 play boosters, build a 40-card Sealed deck, and play with the set for the first time in a casual and fun environment. (Players receive a Pre-Release kit containing 6 play-boosters, a spin-down life counter and a random rare/mythic foil card. Additional play-boosters will be given to players based on participation numbers.)

Tickets will be available from our website from 6pm on the 7th of February. These are Priced at £40 

Friday 6th of March - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Release Draft event

Draft is a long-standing format that marries the strategy of deck-building with the fun of opening packs! Each player begins with 3 play boosters; opens one up, picks a card and passes the remaining cards on. Once all the packs have been opened and all the cards picked, players then build a 40-card deck using the cards that they've drafted and plays against their peers to see who built the best and beat the rest! (Players receive 3 play boosters to draft with, an all participants receive an additional play booster once the event has ended.)

Tickets will be available from our website the week before. These are Priced at £20 

As we continue into the year, we hope to keep hosting events like these and, as always feedback is always welcome as we try to accommodate more types of players into our community. Tables for casual play will continue to be available, these are first come first serve due to limited seating space. - we aim to have a minimum of 4 casual tables every week outside of Pre-release Events.
