Update: Upcoming Pokemon Pre-orders

Good afternoon everyone, we would like to follow up from our announcement the other day with more information on this weekend’s pre-orders. I hope that this answers some of your concerns and if you still have questions please ask them here or  in the contact staff channel. 

First I feel it necessary to explain the reasoning behind this in efforts to remedy the hasty announcement on wednesday: 

We have been planning for online pre-orders since we started our in store system last year. It is with deep consideration, feedback and thought towards the community that we have decided to trial this system. This won't be for all pre-orders, for larger releases such as the upcoming Pitch Black, we will continue to hold pre-orders in person. Pitch Black Pre-Orders start Sunday 12th of July. 

For smaller releases such as the First Partners collections, we will be using this new online pre-order system.  

So why the change?

The support from the community for our pre-orders has been huge, and we appreciate everyone who has stood in a queue come rain or shine to get their hands on products. 

However, in person pre-orders have lead to the exclusion of a portion of our community that we would like to accomodate; the families that have football or dance practice on Sunday mornings, the night shift workers, those living with health conditions, among others that aren't able to wait in queues or make it down to the store every week. 

This system aims to give access to those members of our community whilst also allowing us to reward those of you that have shown up, attended our events and waited in queues for pre-orders. We hope that this new pre-order system helps support that goal.

So how does it work?

Pokémon 'First Partners 2' Pre-Order Guidelines 

We are incredibly excited for the upcoming Pokémon First Partners 2 release! Because demand is incredibly high and stock is limited, we want to ensure these products get into the hands of our awesome local community. To keep things fair and combat scalping, we are running a Manual, Weighted Pre-order for this release.

The Rules at a Glance

- In-Store Collection Only: We will not be shipping any pre-order items. If you cannot collect in person, please do not enter.

- Pay on Collection: No upfront payment required. You will pay when you pick up your items.

- One Entry Per Person: Duplicate entries under different emails/names will be disqualified entirely.

- ID Required: The name on your pre-order form entry must match the photo ID / Payment Card Name you present when collecting your order.

- You **must** complete the application form which can be found on the ticket page and will be posted on the discord.

Prioritising Our Community

We love our regulars and we want to make sure the players who support our shop week-in and week-out get taken care of. To do this we are using a weighted ticket system.

Everyone gets a baseline of 1 Entry but you can earn additional tickets in the draw if you are an active part of our community. By filling out the form linked above you can gain:

- +1 Entry if you are an active member of our Discord server. (*must have been a member for at least 2 months*)

- +1 Entry if you have placed a pre-order with us in the last 3 months.

- +1 Entries if you regularly attend our in-store Pokémon events, League nights, or Prereleases.

*Note: All bonus entries will be manually cross-referenced with our tournament software and store backend before the draw* 

Timeline & Process

Pre-Order Open: Sunday 14th June

Pre-Order Closes: Tuesday 16th June

The Draw: Winners will be drawn manually and notified via email by Wednesday 17th June.

Collection Window: Winners will have until Friday 26th June to collect their product. Any uncollected items after this time will be offered to the runners-up.

*Note: We understand the concern towards Scalping and Bots, in the current market this is in many ways unavoidable online, as are similar issues we still see in person. One of the aims of moving pre-orders online is to allow for a more comprehensive filtering of pre-orders while increasing accessibility for participating customers.*
